Relocating Staff and Learning To City Campus
Coventry College is a key provider of education and training for young people and adults in the City.
The College, like many in the FE sector has faced numerous challenges over the last few years.
However, we continue to strive to ensure that Coventry City, which is continuing to regenerate and serves an important regional economy, has a college, which delivers industry standard vocational and technical training to meet the skills needs across the City and wider community.
Our aim is to ensure that we create a financially stable further education college, which is fit for the future and will enable us to invest in the student experience to provide the highest quality of education that our students deserve.
It is with this vision in mind, that the College Board and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) has agreed, after lengthy consideration to locate all of its staff and teaching currently at Henley Campus to City Campus from September 2021.
These two campuses are less than two miles apart.
This approach will enable the College to:
- Divert its capital investment and funding into the development and future proofing of one modern campus in the heart of a city which is regenerating and growing
- Deliver efficiencies which will enable further investment into the facilities at the City Campus
- Enhance the learner experience through the delivery of efficiencies which enable further investment into the City Campus, extending the range of facilities
We have undertaken detailed research, which has demonstrated that learners travel across the City to reach our Henley Campus, and therefore by moving existing Henley provision into the City Campus where we have capacity, learners will not be adversely affected.
Please be assured that all our current learners will be able to complete their studies during the 20/21 academic year, and progress into further/higher education or employment, as no provision will be stopped during this transition.
Only one curriculum area will be phased out in September 2021, with all other provision moved across to the City Campus.
We hope that you will support us as we work through this process.
