College Students Organise Successful Fundraiser for Charity Molly Ollys

Successful Fundraiser for Molly Ollys

In a heart-warming display of community spirit and generosity, college students came together to organise a vibrant fundraiser in support of Molly Ollys charity. Through a series of engaging games and competitions, the students rallied together to raise an impressive total of £592.73.

The fundraiser, held on the college campus, saw students divided into groups, each tasked with creating innovative and entertaining activities to encourage participation and donations. From raffles to table tennis tournaments, the event offered something for everyone, fostering a sense of camaraderie and fun among attendees.

At the heart of the fundraiser was the students’ commitment to supporting Molly Ollys, a charity dedicated to helping children with terminal or life-threatening illnesses. The organisation provides practical and emotional support to families facing the challenges of serious illness, offering services such as therapeutic toys, books, and support packs.

Throughout the day, the campus buzzed with energy as students and faculty alike joined in the festivities. The excitement only increased when the students were joined by Olly himself, accompanied by Rachel Ollenshaw who runs Molly Ollys. Laughter and cheers filled the air as participants competed in various games and fun.

Speaking about the event, Rachel Ollenshaw expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming support from the college community.

“Earlier in the year I visited the students and spent time explaining the work of the Charity, helping with fundraising ideas and tips and it hopefully it helped inspire.

The event had a real buzz and there was a good variety of different stalls to widen the appeal and help get more engagement. My colleague, Sophie, and I really enjoyed the morning and Molly Ollys are very grateful to all the teachers and pupils who made the event such a great success and helped raise both funds and awareness.”

As the event drew to a close, students and organisers reflected on the day’s achievements with pride. “The event was well attended by staff and students. A big thank you to the Business Team for their support and the students, who were outstanding in their performance. Also, to Molly Ollys who attended with their Molly Ollys merchandise which was very popular.” Aysha Anwar, Business & Professional

With the funds raised, Molly Ollys will be able to continue their vital work, providing support and comfort to those who need it most. As the college students celebrate their success, they look forward to future opportunities to make a difference and spread kindness in their community and beyond.
