Coventry College’s Unprecedented 11.3% Pay Award

Coventry College has announced an unprecedented 11.3% two-year pay award to all colleagues comprising of 7% backdated to 1st August 2023 and 4% from 1st August 2024.

The ability to award the increase is linked to a number of outstanding achievements for Coventry College including solid learner recruitment, highly effective operational efficiencies and additional grant funding.

In addition to the College’s commitment to retaining and attracting talented staff, it continues to invest in enhancing the learner experience with £3m of capital funding ring-fenced for curriculum infrastructure and equipment in 2023/24 and campus expansion in its South Courtyard area set to complete in September 2024.

Coventry College recognises its important role in the heart of the Coventry City region and continues to prioritise raising the quality of its teaching, learning and assessment which was recently endorsed in a monitoring visit by Ofsted. Ofsted commented extremely positively on the key themes it was inspecting; see notes to editors.

This pay award marks the end of an incredibly successful year for Coventry College where it has secured a number of high-profile projects and grant funding from the Local Skills Improvement Fund, Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, West Midlands Combined Authority and an exciting but embargoed sub-regional collaboration.
