This course has been structured to meet the needs of the constantly evolving games industry; we aim to ensure that you leave with a skill set required for a career in games. In the first year of the course (HNC), you will work towards Level 4 HNC in Games Production (Creative Media Production), which provides a foundation in the core game art, design, modelling and animation skills required within the games sector. This will allow you to progress to the second year to complete the Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Games Production (Creative Media Production) course, and develop specialised skills within your chosen games discipline. Units you will study are:

Where can this take me?
Successful completion of a Higher National Certificate in Games Design will provide you with a range of options when it comes to your progression. These include:
- Applying to University to join in Year 2 of the relevant degree
- Applying to University to study a full 3 Year degree
- Applying to another University or College to top up to a full Higher National Diploma
How will we support your progression?
Through a series of initial 1:1 tutorials we will ascertain your preferred destination following your HNC. We will then support and guide you through the application, preparation, interview and funding stages that follow. Our lecturers have a wealth of experience when it comes to ensuring our learns are supporting to progress to the very highest level in their chosen industry.
Examples of learner work
Two Merit grades or above in a Level 3 Extended Diploma in an Art/Graphics-based subject (equating to a minimum of 80 UCAS points).
Or, three A-Levels with a grade ‘C’ or above in an Art/Graphics-based subject (equating to a minimum of 80 UCAS points).
Desired grade ‘C’ or above in GCSE English/maths.
Successful candidates must produce an artwork portfolio for review at interview.
Course fees: £5,225 per year
The decisions on applications for HE candidates are made by curriculum staff after interview, audition or portfolio review have taken place.

Fees and funding
If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
