Course Overview

This qualification will give learners the opportunity to gain a broad set of knowledge and skills surrounding the IT sector.

Course Structure

  • Unit 1: The Online Word (Exam)
  • Unit 2: Technology Systems (Exam)
  • Unit 3: A Digital Portfolio
  • Unit 9: Spreadsheet Development
  • Unit 11: Computer Networks
  • Unit 12: Software Development
  • Unit 13: Website Development
  • Unit 14: Installing and Maintaining Computer Hardware

You will be assessed through a combination of continuous assignment work and two online exams.

Upon successful completion of this course, you could progress to the Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Information Technology. Alternatively, you could apply for an apprenticeship or enter employment in a range of roles including data operations, IT support and business applications.

A relevant Level 1 IT qualification at Merit grade or four relevant GCSEs at grade 3 or above. Candidates will also need to attend an interview with a member of the teaching team.

Course may be free for 16-18yrs; for 19-23yrs, course is free if you have not achieved a full Level 2 qualification.

1st year course fee £1292; Exam Fee £114.

If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
