Course Overview

The purpose of this qualification is to allow learners to demonstrate an understanding of, and competency in, the digital functional skills they need in real life. It will enable learners to engage with digital services and products in everyday life.

Both the Entry level 3 and Level 1 Digital skills are available for enrolment and Initial Assessments prior to enrolment will determine starting point.

These courses are available full time for 4 weeks and Part time -1 evening for 16 weeks.

 

Qualification structure

The qualification has 5 themes. Learners must successfully demonstrate their achievement of all learning outcomes within each theme:

  • Using devices and handling information
  • Creating and editing
  • Communicating
  • Transacting
  • Being safe and responsible online

How is it assessed?

Online assessment:

This qualification is externally set and externally marked.
Section 1 (knowledge):

  • Online Externally set Exam

Section 2 (skills):

task-based assessment, completed under externally assessed conditions (Online Exam)

Learners must be 19+. All candidates will be required to undertake an Initial assessment at enrolment to determine eligibility.

This course is fully funded by Digital Entitlement

Fees and funding

If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
