Course Overview

Access to FE is for learners who are 16-18 years old. This course is aimed at learners who want to progress into FE but may not have the relevant entry requirements. Access to FE is a one year, full time course working towards a Diploma in Vocational Studies.

This course is designed to ease the transition into FE and to help move on into Vocational areas of interest on Level 1. There are three areas to choose from Technical (Construction, Transport and Hair), Digital (IT, Business and Media) and Health (Health and Social Care, Art and Sports)

The timetable is based over 4 days working towards a BTEC E3 Qualification alongside Maths and English.

Progression will lead to Level 1 in an area of choice.

Fees and funding

If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
