Evobus Apprenticeship success
Jordan Hennerley and Holly Frearson were recruited directly by Claire Price, HR Manager at Evobus, Europe’s largest bus manufacturer, as Accounting Technician apprentices last summer. Claire contacted Emma Ingram, Head of Employer Engagement at the College to start their enrolment onto the Level 2 AAT apprenticeship programme.
Since then, they have gone from strength to strength, developing their skills & knowledge with the support of their dedicated trainer/assessor from the College’s Business & Professional Team, Gayle Barnes.
The girls decided that an apprenticeship was the best option for them, rather than the university route, as they wanted to gain an industry-recognised qualification alongside work experience, and of course they’d have the added benefit of earning a salary.
Claire is extremely proud of their achievements to date, saying, “Holly and Jordan joined EvoBus UK as Finance Apprentices in July 2019, having both come to us after completing their A levels.”
“They have fitted in very quickly and have built good working relationships with colleagues both within the department as well as in the wider business. It has been a steep learning curve, but they have taken the work in their stride and their confidence is building on a daily basis. They can deal with queries from colleagues within their own department as well from those in other departments and will happily ask questions if they are unsure. They are an asset to the company, and we look forward to watching their progress throughout their apprenticeship.”
EvoBus UK uses Coventry College as the training provider for their AAT apprentices and have built a good relationship with the College over a number of years, helping them to develop the knowledge of each apprentice and improve the skills of their workforce.
