Coventry College has a dedicated industry placements team to strengthen links between students and employers.

The team helps to find students suitable placements in workplaces which relate to their areas of study.

Based in the College’s Employer Engagement and Sales area, the team develops relationships with employers and works closely with them from the start to finish of a placement.

Industry placements provide a number of benefits for employers including the opportunity to showcase their industry or area of work, the kudos of investing in students and tapping into new talent for the future.

Placements also help students to develop key employability skills which employers look for when taking on new recruits,

Emma said: “Industry placements are extremely important for our students, giving them hands-on experience in the workplace.

“We have a strong network of employers and we are very grateful to them for accommodating students on placements.

“Going forward, we fully appreciate the challenges local businesses continue to face in light of COVID-19 and if employers are able to support our students with virtual industry placement opportunities, we welcome a more innovative way of inter-acting with our students.

“We want to build on those contacts and develop more workplace opportunities through this team which are a win-win for both students and employers.”
