The Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Cancer Support is designed for learners who want to increase their knowledge and understanding of supporting adults living with cancer. It could be used as a continuous professional development (CPD) qualification for learners already working within the health care and social care sectors or for individuals providing informal care.
How is the qualification structured?
To be awarded the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Cancer Support, you are required to successfully complete the mandatory units:
- Cancer Awareness
- Introduction to the Diagnosis and Treatment of Cancer
- Introduction to Cancer Care and Support
- Introduction to End of Life and Bereavement Care
How is it assessed?
To achieve the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Cancer Support, you must successfully demonstrate your achievement of all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria of the units. This is achieved by completing assessments provided in the learning resources. NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Cancer Support is internally assessed.
There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. You must be aged 19+ and have resided in the EU for the last 3 years in order to access funding.
The course is free*, however, there is a charge of £125 which is payable if the student does not complete the course.

Fees and funding
If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
