City centre careers fair to return for first time since the pandemic
Students in Coventry will have the chance to speak to major employers at a leading local college’s first summer careers fair since before the pandemic.
Leading organisations from a range of industries will be speaking to scores of ambitious students and the wider public at Coventry College’s Summer Careers Fair on Wednesday, July 27 – its first in-person summer careers event since 2019.
The event, which runs from 11am to 2pm, is open to all visitors, giving newly and soon-to-be qualified students and people in the area the chance to chat to employers such as the NHS, Severn Trent and Balfour Beatty and discuss career opportunities.
Other employers are set to include CV Life, The Albany Theatre, FabLab Coventry, Meridian Health & Social Care, The British Army, Premier Inn and RMF Construction, as well as many more.
Coventry College students and graduates can make of use of a dedicated CV and careers stand, with staff members on hand to discuss apprenticeship, traineeship and sector gateway programme opportunities, interviewing tips and advise on how to optimise CVs.
Students can then head to the employer stands where they will have the opportunity to hand over their CV for employers to keep on file for current or future vacancies.
Charlotte Bench, Sector Engagement Officer at Coventry College said:
“We are extremely excited about this year’s summer careers fair, with some of the largest employers in Coventry and Warwickshire joining us to speak to our current crop of students about their plans for the future.”
“We are also thrilled to be able to welcome other members of the public on the day as we return for the first time in three years. As a college based in the heart of Coventry, it’s important that we have the chance to share these opportunities with the wider community, especially those that are out of work or looking for a career change.”
