Ayesha Khan

Studied: Level 3 Diploma in Medical Science
Progression: Children’s Nursing Bsc (Hons) at Birmingham City University

Ayesha has always had a passion for caring for people and knew that she wanted to work in a care environment with children in some way. She already knew about Coventry College due to her brother studying with us previously, and so attended an Open Event. Ayesha knew that she wanted to study a Medical Science programme to start her on her career path. Ayesha says her lecturers were supportive and understanding during her studies and took time to help her with specific aspects of the programme: “They also took time to check my work and always gave me the support needed when I didn’t understand parts of the assignment”. Ayesha says she enjoyed the programme because it offered both theoretical and practical aspects, which gave it variety and kept it interesting.

During her second year of studying at Coventry College, Ayesha was ready to apply to university to continue her studies, and has praised the Medical Science programme as being the perfect foundation for her learning; “It enabled me to gain the knowledge, skills and qualifications needed for further studies at university”. Ayesha has successfully gained a place on a Children’s Nursing course at Birmingham City University and is looking forward to starting her course. Once she graduates, she wants to either continue studying or work as a registered nurse. She is extremely grateful to the College and staff for their part in helping her pursue her dreams of helping children through difficult times.
