National Apprenticeship Week – Unlock a Successful Career

Apprenticeships can be the key that unlocks a successful career in a huge range of industries…

Coventry College offers an ever-expanding programme of more than 70 different apprenticeships, ranging from recruitment to painting and decorating, and deals with around 700 companies in the Coventry and Warwickshire area.

As part of our National Apprenticeship Week activities, we are hosting an Apprentice Recruitment Fair at our Henley Campus, where students can get more information on opportunities available to them and speak with businesses.

The event will take place from 9:30am to 12pm on Wednesday, with employers confirmed to attend including Deeley Construction, Nuneaton & Bedworth Leisure Trust, Wickman Coventry Ltd and Clegg Construction.

Gemma Knott, Assistant Principal for Business Growth, said: “We would like to see as many people interested in taking on an apprenticeship, attend our Recruitment Fair.

“This is a great opportunity to make contacts and learn more about what could lie ahead for you.

“Coventry College offers apprenticeships from level 2 to level 5, in a huge range of industries.

“We pride ourselves on the strong links we have forged with the Coventry and Warwickshire business community and the opportunities this creates for apprentices who come to us looking for the challenge, that is going to set them on their chosen career path.

“A range of employers will be on hand to talk about how an apprentice has helped their business develop, opportunities that they may have coming up in the future and the kinds of tasks their apprentices have taken on when working for them.”

An apprenticeship allows you to study for a qualification at the same time as working. You divide your time between an employer and college, although occasionally the apprenticeship training is also delivered in the workplace.

You’ll be able to earn while you learn, gain hands-on experience in your chosen industry and access support from people who already work in the sector right now.

As part of National Apprenticeship Week, we will be posting a new story every day, highlighting our work to ensure those who want to try an apprenticeship are in good hands. Check back tomorrow for our next article.
