Barrington Simon

Studied: Level 3 Diploma in Graphic Design
Progression: Graphic Design degree at Coventry University and now employed as a designer at a Coventry agency

Barrington describes his journey:

“The graphic design course at Coventry College was the reason that I decided to follow a career in design. The course allowed me to explore a wide range of modules and push my creativity through experimental design projects. From this I gained valuable design knowledge and produced a successful portfolio which allowed me to study graphic design at Coventry University.

After achieving a first class degree with honours at university, I was lucky enough to be spotted at my degree show by a successful local design agency and found immediate employment as a graphic designer. I now work with large clients up and down the UK producing commercial artwork, from social media graphics to branding to print material such as leaflets and brochures. Every day is different in the studio and I am always working on something new. Life as a working designer is fast paced, meaning you have to be constantly thinking of new ideas. But there is nothing better than working with a great team in an exciting work environment, collaborating your ideas together and seeing your work published in the real world.”
