Help for Employers

Coventry College is dedicated to offering help for employers in Coventry and Warwickshire. Working together, we want to help drive businesses forward, develop skilled workforces and increase employment in the region.

Make it Work

Our experienced team of professionals can offer you support with everything from employee recruitment and bespoke training for current staff, to spotting new talent so you can shape the future of your business. We can also work with you to support the local economy and jobs market through our training programmes for those who are currently unemployed.

We understand that every business is different, which is why we’ll work with you to carry out a training needs analysis to identify skills gaps and offer solutions to meet your needs. As your requirements and business changes, so can your training.

To ensure educational provision meets the needs of local businesses, we’ve partnered with a number of local education providers to develop Coventry and Warwickshire Adult Learning – offering courses that aim to reshape technical skills training in the region.

We’re also working with a number of education providers to deliver Skills West Midlands and Warwickshire – a one stop training shop for employers. Similarly, we’ve received funding from Innovate UK and are working with providers in the region to help employers identify skills gaps and training requirements as well as plan for the future and embrace new technologies in their sectors.

Working with Coventry College is cost-effective and straightforward. Our dedicated team of business experts will be there to support you at every stage, and you may be able to access Government funding to support the training of new and existing staff.

Skills of the Future

The conversation about the future of jobs and skills is one of the most important in education. At Coventry College we host regular Skills of the Future Boards with local employers to help ensure our curriculum, and the skills our learners are developing, are future-proof. These Boards also offer the chance for employers to shape the landscape of the jobs market in the UK, hear from leading industry experts and gain access to CPD.

Work-Related Training

Industry Placements and T-Levels

Industry Placements give employers the chance to ensure that young people are developing the skills and experience that industry needs, and gives learners the opportunity to develop their practical and technical skills in a role directly relevant to their study programme.

Our Industry Placements Team will help to match learners with placements and forge a relationship with the employer to ensure each learner’s work placement is tailored to reflect their college programme and career ambitions; and the placement is of benefit for the employer to promote business development.

As an employer you have the option to offer a short work placement or a longer 45 day placement with our new T Levels.
