Meet Our Apprenticeships Team: Bridging The Gap
Our apprenticeships team work closely with employers to ensure programmes run smoothly and help is always at hand.
One of the concerns that employers raise when taking on a new apprentice is how the programme will be managed.
Although employers are responsible for the apprentice in the workplace there is the College and qualification element of the programme and any paperwork that comes with it which busy employers may not always have time to deal with.
And for some businesses the whole apprenticeships world can seem like a complete minefield with so much information to take on board.
There’s no need to worry.
Coventry College has a dedicated apprenticeship team to make apprenticeships run as smoothly as possible and guide employers through the process from start to finish.
How can our team support you?
The team are the key link between employers and apprentices and the ‘go to’ people for anything that employers or new apprentice recruits need to know.
They are an experienced team of professionals with industry experience from different backgrounds and sectors.
They will explore your business and make sure that apprentices are well-matched for your individual needs and requirements through the College’s ‘talent pool.’
Once they’ve found a suitable apprentice candidate for you they will set up the interviews and make it as easy as possible for you to on-board your new apprentice.
They will talk you through the programme and give you a better understanding of what the ‘off-the-job’ training in college is all about and set goals which are aligned with the apprenticeship and are useful particularly for younger apprentices.
Support then continues throughout the programme with mentoring and regular visits to check that the apprentice’s and your expectations are being met and that everything is on track for a successful outcome.
Building good relationships with all the apprentice employers we work with is crucial.
In the 2020-21 academic the College team continued to expand its work and services with employers and delivered a wide range of apprenticeships in different sectors including hospitality, business and care – recording 140 new apprenticeship starts.
As the College apprenticeship provision continues to grow, and if you are considering an apprentice for your business, help is always at hand as and when you need it.
So don’t see taking on an apprentice as daunting, it’s an opportunity which our team will support you with every step of the way.
