Free Programmes For Adults: Cutting the cost barrier to new skills

Group of people gathered around a laptop looking at screen.

If employees are concerned about the cost implications of signing up for new qualifications which support their work and career prospects – they could actually be eligible for free programmes.

Although course fees for some programmes at Coventry College are full fees, there are others which are either part-funded or FREE.

So whether it’s an adult part-time programme to support professional and personal development or professional qualifications which are very relevant to the workplace – it’s definitely worth checking out.

Reduced cost or FREE programmes are available for some part-time and professional courses subject to a fee assessment.*

    Funded programmes are available in:

    • Accounting
    • Human Resources
    • Education
    • Business

West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) Funding

If you’re an employer or employee that lives in the WMCA, some programmes are likely to be fully-funded.

Learners must be aged 19 or over on August 31, 2021 and be a resident of the WMCA to be eligible.

    National Skills Fund

The National Skills Fund is a government initiative which aims to help adults train and gain the valuable skills they need to improve their job prospects.

Launched in April 2021, it will support the immediate economic recovery and future skills needs.

The government is investing £2.5 billion in the fund – giving employers the key skills they require and adults the opportunity to achieve their first Level 3 qualification.

These free-funded programmes will help you and your employees:

    • Gain qualifications which are needed and valued
    • Improve your job prospects
    • Progress in the workplace
    • Earn a good wage

You must be aged 19 or over and don’t already have a full Level 3 qualification (equivalent to an advanced technical certificate or diploma or A-Levels).

19 to 23-year-olds can also access additional courses for free through their legal entitlement to a first full level 3 qualification.

To find out if you or your employees are eligible for free-funded programmes, please call 02476 791100 or email [email protected]

*Funding is subject to fee assessment based on your individual circumstances and acceptance onto an eligible course
