Coventry College Reintroduces Apprenticeships with Exciting new Employer Partnerships and a Renewed Focus on Quality and Priority Skills
Today (15 June 2026) Coventry College has announced the reintroduction of its Apprenticeship provision, marking an important milestone in the College’s continued journey of transformation.
To launch the new provision, Coventry College will be working in partnership with CV Life – the city’s largest provider of sport, culture and leisure opportunities.
Together, Coventry College and CV Life recognise the vital role that leisure, sport and wellbeing play in Coventry’s health, culture and economy. They have developed three Sport and Leisure Apprenticeships designed to reflect the operational, customer service and leadership skills required within the industry.
Vikki Harlock, Head of Training and Development at CV Life, said:
“We are delighted to partner with Coventry College for the reintroduction of their apprenticeship provision. CV Life recognises how important wellbeing and active lifestyles are to Coventry. These three new Sport and Leisure Apprenticeships have been tailored to develop skills that our industry actively needs. We look forward to welcoming committed learners, providing them with high-quality, on the job training, and working together to deliver a lasting, positive social impact for the communities we serve.”
The College is also supporting Coventry’s strong Engineering and Manufacturing heritage through the introduction of Welding and Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeships, co-designed with Coventry employers to ensure learners gain relevant, job-ready skills. These programmes will help future-proof the region’s workforce.
Speaking about the reintroduction of Apprenticeships, Principal and CEO of Coventry College Carol Thomas said:
“Reintroducing Apprenticeships is a significant step forward for Coventry College. Following our outstanding transformation, we are committed to delivering Apprenticeships that are high-quality, employer-led and designed around real skills needs. We want to create opportunities that support individuals into sustainable careers and help businesses grow through skilled talent. Partnerships are at the heart of this approach, and we’re proud to be working with employers and organisations such as CV Life to shape training that makes a difference.”
Coventry College’s Apprenticeship provision will continue to expand over the coming years, with further programmes planned in response to employer demand and evolving labour market needs. Initially the College is focussing on the progression of its current learners who have an excellent track record of attendance, work ethic and commitment and are keen and eager to take the next exciting step of on-the-job training that an Apprenticeship can provide.
Employers interested in partnering with Coventry College to develop Apprenticeships or upskill their workforce are encouraged to get in touch with the Employer Engagement Team to explore opportunities.
