Coventry College Make History with AoC Sport Regional Basketball Title

Coventry College Basketball Education Programme has claimed the AoC Sport regional title for the first time in its history, following a dominant and determined championship run.

The Coventry College men’s basketball team delivered a standout performance throughout the tournament, combining disciplined defence, efficient scoring and relentless energy at both ends of the court. Their consistency and teamwork proved decisive as they battled through a highly competitive field to emerge as regional champions.

From the opening round, Coventry set the standard with composed play and strong defensive intensity, carrying that momentum through every game across the day. Each performance reflected the squad’s focus and togetherness, underlining their status as the class of the region.

Academy Manager Pete Glackin praised the achievement and highlighted what lies ahead for the team.

“It’s a fantastic achievement and the first time Coventry College have won the AoC Sport regional tournament,” he said. “The next stages will be a great experience for the squad of players as they qualify for the National Championships at Nottingham University in April.”

The historic victory marks a major milestone for the Basketball Education Programme and sets the stage for Coventry College to test themselves against the best teams in the country at the national finals.
