Coventry College Kicks Off Competition Month with Exciting Challenges Across All Courses

Throughout the month, students from all curriculums will have the chance to showcase their skills in a series of creative and competitive challenges, putting everything they have learned so far, this academic year into practice. And, as if the thrill of competition wasn’t enough, students will also be competing for some fantastic prizes.
With each curriculum hosting its own set of competitions, this month promises a diverse range of opportunities for students to shine in their respective fields. Here are just a few of the standout events taking place across the college:
Hairdressing: Students will be tasked with creating a stunning Christmas updo, using their newly acquired skills in the art of dressing hair. The competition is designed to push students’ creativity while allowing them to demonstrate their technical knowledge. The winner will receive a luxurious designer Christmas gift set to help them celebrate the season in style.
Science: For those in the science department, the competition is split between Forensic Science and Applied Science. First, Forensic students will engage in a crime scene investigation challenge, where they will apply forensic techniques to solve a mock crime. The Applied Science challenge focuses on micro pipetting, a skill employers highly value in the scientific field. Micro pipetting is known for being tricky, and students will be asked to demonstrate their precision and accuracy. Between the winners they will walk away with £100 worth of vouchers—a perfect reward for their hard work and expertise.
Digital Studies: The Digital Studies department is hosting a best infographic competition, where students will explore the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in a field of their choice. The infographic will need to highlight key concepts, benefits, and challenges associated with AI. The winner will be awarded a high-quality HyperX headset, ideal for any aspiring digital professional.
Competition Month at Coventry College offers a fun and motivating way for students to apply what they have learned in real-world scenarios, all while having the opportunity to win prizes that will help them in their future careers. The initiative is designed not only to boost students’ practical experience but also to encourage friendly rivalry and celebrate their progress.
The college is excited to see how students from various disciplines will take on these challenges, demonstrating their abilities and pushing their boundaries. Adam Glover, Director of Quality for Coventry College said,
“November is an outstanding month for our learners in showcasing what they are really made of! We are all really proud to launch these competitions and are already so excited to proudly announce the winners. A big well done to the teams that have put so much thought and effort into designing these creative and inspiring competitions for their learners. Looking forward to see all the competitors with their prizes, but also to be a part of such a busy and vibrant time. Good luck to you all.”
As students across all courses gear up for the challenges ahead, it’s clear that Coventry College’s Competition Month will be a memorable and rewarding experience for all involved.
