Coventry College Childcare Graduate Embarks on Opportunity of a Lifetime with Camp America

Coventry College is celebrating the success of one of its former students, Millie Hoverd, who has secured an exciting role as a Camp Councillor for Camp America.
Millie, who completed her Level 2 and Level 3 Childcare and Early Years qualifications at the college two years ago, has shared how her education helped her stand out from other applicants and paved the way for this unique opportunity.
Thanks to her qualifications, Millie will be classed as a Camp Councillor Specialist, a role that recognises her specialist knowledge in the childcare field. She expressed her gratitude to the staff at Coventry College, highlighting how her time at the institution prepared her for this new challenge.
“The staff at Coventry College were amazing, they showed so much support to all students. The best thing about my programme was learning so many things about childcare and how much knowledge I gained during my placement,” Millie shared.
While Millie waits to find out which state she will be heading to for her camp assignment, she is already planning to expand her skill set further by pursuing a lifeguarding qualification. She also made a point of returning to Coventry College to personally thank her lecturers for their guidance and support, which she credits for her success.
Camp America offers young people from across the globe the chance to work at summer camps in the United States, with roles that range from activity leadership to specialist counselling. For Millie, this position is a dream come true, providing her with hands-on experience in working with children while exploring life in a different part of the world.
Coventry College is proud to see one of its former students thrive and looks forward to seeing Millie continue to grow both professionally and personally through this incredible opportunity.
