Coventry College has marked a significant achievement with the completion of its latest Into Employment Programme, aimed at preparing individuals for careers in the healthcare sector.

Partnering with ISS, a specialist in healthcare services, the college successfully trained ten students, all of whom secured conditional job offers following their interviews.

The intensive three-week course focused on essential skills, including safeguarding, customer service, and team building, providing students with the tools necessary to thrive in hospital environments. The cohort was diverse, featuring an equal mix of men and women aged between 25 and 58, all eager to embark on new career paths.

At the culmination of the programme, each student was guaranteed an interview with ISS, and the college proudly announced that all ten candidates passed their interviews with flying colours. They are set to take on various roles at Walsgrave Hospital, including portering, administrative, and receptionist positions. Their employment is contingent upon successful DBS checks.

Coventry College has expressed immense pride in the success of this programme, reinforcing its commitment to supporting local residents in their journey into employment. The college is already looking ahead to launch a new Into Employment course focused on the hospitality sector later this year.

“This initiative highlights our dedication to helping individuals gain meaningful employment and the skills necessary for the healthcare industry,” said a college spokesperson. “We are excited to see our students take their next steps and contribute to the vital work at Walsgrave Hospital.”

The success of the programme underscores Coventry College’s role as a key player in workforce development, bridging the gap between education and employment in the community.
