Coventry College Cabin Crew Students Take Flight with British Airways SEP Training at Heathrow Airport
A group of our Level 2 Cabin Crew students recently had an incredible opportunity to receive essential Safety and Emergency Procedures (SEP) training at the world renowned Heathrow Airport, courtesy of British Airways.
While Coventry College offers top level cabin crew training using replica flight facilities, certain aspects of SEP training require on board experience that simply cannot be replicated in a classroom setting. The training at Heathrow allowed students to experience crucial scenarios such as slide descent, fire ground safety, smoke chamber drills, and pilot incapacitation procedures—skills that are vital for ensuring passenger safety in real flight emergencies.
The SEP training provided by British Airways is part of the college’s ongoing commitment to offering students the highest quality, industry-standard education. With these connections to reputable companies, Coventry College ensures its students gain practical experience that directly translates to the world of work.
This marks the latest in a series of partnerships with major travel companies aimed at enhancing student learning and career prospects. In November, students were visited by Swissport, a leading global airport services provider. The visit included in-depth discussions about job opportunities within the airport industry and advice on how to apply for positions, giving students a leg up on other applicants.

The chance to engage directly with two of the biggest employers in aviation was a highlight for many students, who relished the opportunity to build valuable relationships and gain further insight into career pathways in the aviation sector.
Coventry College is known for its strong connections within the travel and aviation industries, and this latest collaboration with British Airways is just one example of how the college is committed to preparing its students for successful careers in the air, and on the ground. The partnerships are not only a chance for students to learn from industry leaders, but they also help position Coventry College as a key player in shaping the future of the aviation workforce.
As these students continue their journey into the cabin crew profession, their time spent at Heathrow Airport and their growing network of industry contacts will no doubt play a key role in their future success.
