This course provides you with the knowledge and skills required while offering a useful and practical qualification. An Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification and membership enables you to develop relevant, practical accounting and finance skills throughout your working life. An AAT qualification is widely recognised and valued. It will make you more employable and give you more options should you choose to progress further.
You will study:
- Drafting & Interpreting Financial Statements
- Applied Management Accounting
- Internal Accounting Systems & Controls
- Cash & Treasury Management
- Credit & Debt Management
You will be assessed by a combination of examinations. Having successfully completed the Level 4 Diploma you can go on to study for the membership examinations of one of the following: CIMA, CIPFA, ICAEW, ACCA. If you wish to go university the Level 4 Diploma carries UCAS points and some universities will give you one or two year exemption from their accountancy degree programmes. If you are between 19 and 24 years of age when your start this course you may need to pay course fees. However, we can help you with our flexible payment plans.
Academic requirements are that learners have achieved five GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above including maths and English or equivalent. Ideally a Merit/Distinction in Level 3 Diploma in Accounting would be beneficial. Finally, you must have a successful interview with an admissions tutor.

- AAT registration: £240 (paid directly to AAT)

Learner Support Fund may cover the costs of your course and book fees
This course is free If you live in the West Midlands Combined Authority area. To be eligible for this funding you must:
- Be 19+ years old
- Live in the West Midlands
- Be on a low wage below £30,000 or unemployed.

If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
