Course Overview
We are excited to announce our brand new HNC in Musical Theatre in partnership with Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama (MADD).
Delivered from MADD HQ in Nottingham, this full time, one year course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to progress further within the Performing Arts Industry. Working with a range of industry professionals and experienced practitioners you will attend practical classes, developing technical skills through rehearsal and being assessed on final workshop or public performances. Vital theoretical and industry understanding will be underpinned through blended learning sessions taught by experienced Lecturers at Coventry College (accessed online and face to face in Nottingham). You will receive academic and pastoral support throughout the programme, which will be tailored to meet your individual needs.
Your HNC in Musical Theatre will allow you to develop a high standard of practical technique and performance skills. Key academic knowledge will be developed throughout the year in order to support a lifelong career within the arts.

Successful completion of this qualification will grant you access to continuing to study with MADD and Coventry College at Level 5, alongside the development of a skillset allowing you to apply for roles in industry or Higher Education
Academic Entry Requirements:
• GCSE English Language and Mathematics A* to C or 9 to 4 where numeric grades are being awarded
• Ideally you will have a Level 3 Extended Diploma at grade Pass, Merit, Merit in a performing arts-related area
• Prior practical experience in all disciplines essential
• 48 UCAS points
Audition Requirements:
Applicants who meet the academic entry criteria will be invited to an audition day.
Please note mature applicants and those who do not meet the entry criteria may still be invited to audition provided they are able to demonstrate relevant skills or have considerable industry experience.
