Course Overview
The Level 4 HNC Creative Media Production (Film) is a full-time, one year course, designed to provide you with the skills to progress further in film academia or the film industry. Completion of the course will provide you with a Level 4 Certificate and grant you access to a Level 5 Higher National Diploma qualification, in addition to an extensive portfolio – which can be used to apply for industry or Higher Education.
This course has been structured to meet the needs of the constantly evolving film industry and new technologies; we aim to ensure that you leave with a skill set required for a career in film. In the first year of the course (HNC), you will work towards Level 4
HNC Creative Media Production (Film) provides a foundation in all elements of filmmaking including cinematography, editing, scripting, storyboarding and much more. This will allow you to progress to the second year to complete the Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Creative Media Production (Film) course and develop specialised skills within your chosen film discipline. Units you will study are:

- Editing for Film & Television
- Cinematography – Camera
Upon completion of the HNC, you will be able to either:
- Continue on to do the Level 5 HND at Coventry College
- Progress to a university or college for a three-year course
How will we support your progression?
Through a series of initial 1:1 tutorials we will ascertain your preferred destination following your HNC. We will then support and guide you through the application, preparation, interview and funding stages that follow. Our lecturers have a wealth of experience when it comes to ensuring our learns are supporting to progress to the very highest level in their chosen industry.

The decisions on applications for HE candidates are made by curriculum staff after interview, audition or portfolio review have taken place.
