Are you looking to break into the esports industry? This course for you.

Esports is defined as organised competitive gaming, which is human versus human, either as individuals or in teams. The esports industry operates on a global scale and is constantly evolving.

The Level 3 Esports course will give you plenty of opportunities to get a hands-on experience into the Esports industry through participating in live tournaments, real experience in developing a brand.  You’ll produce and manage your own esport live-streamed events where you can also gain the experience being a shoutcaster, coach, presenter and a stream manager. Esports offers a unique opportunity to study a sector that crosses over a multitude of subject areas such as sport, marketing, enterprise, IT and the creative. It provides an opportunity for development of social, physical, mental and financial skills all into one qualification to deepen and expand learning. These transferable skills are highly valued in the changing and fluid workplace. The Level 3 Extended Diploma qualification attracts UCAS Tariff points and is recognised by Higher Education institutions as contributing to entry requirements for many related courses. When taken in a two-year, full-time study programme, learners can progress to higher education degree programmes, such as:

  • BA (Hons) in Events Management
  • BA (Hons) in Media or a BA (Hons) in Esports
  • BSC (Hons) International Business

Learners should check entry requirements for specific degree programmes with providers.

4 GCSEs at Grade 4 (C in the old grading structure) or above including one in English or maths.

Relevant Level 2 qualification at Merit Level with GCSE/Level 2 in English & maths. If you have a Pass grade you will complete an additional assessment to check course suitability.

This course is free for 16-18yrs; for 19-23yrs, course is free if you have not achieved a full Level 2 qualification.

If you're aged 19+ you may be able to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost of the course.

Fees and funding

If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
