This Apprenticeship is for anyone wishing to develop knowledge and skills relating to the Children and Young People’s Workforce.  The qualifications at Level 2 contains a number of units that are shared across related workforces – children’s services, schools support services, health, care and playwork.

This qualification is relevant for:

  • Early Years Worker/Assistant
  • Care Worker/Assistant
  • Assistant Youth Support & Community Worker

Apprenticeships offer the opportunity to work for a real employer and gain a qualification. Childcare careers require knowledge and commitment and apprenticeships are an excellent way to learn and develop your career at the same time.

What you will learn:

  • Level 2/3 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce
  • Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT
  • ERR (Employment Rights and Responsibilities
  • PLTS (Personal Learning and Thinking Skills)

  • Promoting Learning and Development in Early Years

You need to be employed in a relevant role to join an Apprenticeship programme plus: 4 GCSEs Grade 4 (C in the old grading structure) or above, including English & maths or a relevant Level 1 qualification combined with GCSE/Level 1 English & maths.
