Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing
This is the qualification you will needed to work as a stylist. You will practice all aspects of hairdressing services on a wide range of customers within our commercially equipped salon Therapeutix.
You will be studying :
- Advanced cutting skills
- Advanced colouring
- Providing colour correction
- Hair extentions (optional)
- Creatively styling and dressing hair
- Contributing to the planning and complementation of promotional activities
- Consultation services
You will enjoy visits to hair and beauty exhibitions including Beauty UK and will regularly be entering competitions to improve your creative skills.
You will be assessed by assignments, practical assessments on all practical units, and external online examinations.
If you are intending to progress to University after college please note that the majority of Universities will expect a grade C English and Maths GCSE and you will need to consider this when applying for a level three course.
We offer English and Maths GCSE retakes with specific entry requirements.
The skills gained from this course will make you highly employable within the hairdressing industry or you could progress onto the level 2 in Barbering, work in salons,become a salon manager, salon owner or work in a health club or on a cruise liner.
Learners will need to have completed a full level 2 in Hairdressing before they can join this study programme. Learners will need a successful interview and a trade test will be required to demonstrate skills. A minimum of functional skills level 1 working towards a level 2.
Making your application
We will check your application to see if you meet the standard entry requirements for the course. If you do, you’ll receive an invitation via email to attend an interview with a Curriculum Tutor.
Fees and funding
If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
From entry-level qualifications, through to degree-level and specialist professional courses there’s something here for students with little or no formal education right up to career high-flyers. Expect a vibrant environment where you can meet people from different backgrounds and cultures.
