Level 3 Diploma in Games Art & Design

The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Games Art & Design is a full time course over 2 years designed to introduce you to the skills needed to progress toward the games industry. Completion of the course will provide you with a Diploma equivalent to three A-Levels.

Over the two years with us, you will study:

  • Concept art, visualising your own designs
  • Digital painting using Wacom drawing tablets

  • Prop/Environment design

  • Asset Modelling

  • Art Theory
  • Contextual and Cultural Referencing
  • Ideas Generation and Concepts


  • Maya
  • ZBrush
  • Unreal Engine
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Substance Painter/Designer
  • Construct 2


All units are focused toward putting together a portfolio of work demonstrating the required skills necessary to progress into employment. A secondary option being on successful completion of the Level 3 Extended Diploma, you could apply to our HND course in which you could achieve Level 4 and 5 qualifications in Game Art.


Four GCSEs grade 4 (C) or above, including English and maths or a Level 2 Diploma with overall merit profile in relevant subject. Experience in art or design is desired but not necessary.

Making your application

We will check your application to see if you meet the standard entry requirements for the course. If you do, you’ll receive an invitation via email to attend an interview with a Curriculum Tutor.

Fees and funding

If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
