Level 3 Diploma in Games Art & Design
This is a full-time course over two years, which is designed to introduce you to the necessary and professional skills needed in the video games industry. Completion of the course will provide you with a Diploma equivalent to three A-Levels and many of our students progress to a related University degree course or seek employment in the rapidly growing games industry, which currently contributes £1billion to the UK economy.
During the course, you will study the production process and develop the skills required to create highly professional video games and use industry standard software at every step to design, develop and test your own creations. You will create your own games by developing knowledge and understanding of games design in multiple aspects; there is a strong emphasis on professional development and you will leave the course with an extensive online portfolio of work as well as experience in working as a team.
Educational trips will be arranged and may include art and games exhibitions and visits to local games developers, such as ‘Codemasters’.
Over the two years with us, you will study:
- All units are focused toward putting together a portfolio of work demonstrating the required skills necessary to progress into employment or to access a University Degree in a relevant subject area.
- A secondary option being on successful completion of the Level 3 Extended Diploma, you could apply to our HND course in which you could achieve Level 4 and 5 qualifications in Game Art.
