This course will enable you to develop knowledge and practical business skills. It will also provide a route into higher education as it equivalent to three A Levels. You will gain skills and knowledge to help you in a business environment, or to establish your own business.

There will be talks by visiting speakers who are current practitioners in the field of business including personnel managers, marketing managers and accountants. Work placements may be organised to provide learners with an opportunity to observe and gain experience in different organisations. There will also be organised visits to universities. On successful completion of this course, you could progress to employment within a business environment. Alternatively, you may progress to an HND or HNC in Business or to study a degree at university.

* If you have not already achieved a GCSE pass at grade 4 (C in the old grading structure) or above in English and Maths you will study Maths and/ or English as an integral part of your college programme.

Level 2 Qualification in Business or a relevant subject, as well as GCSE Maths and/or GCSE English at grades 4 (C) or above. You will need to have a successful interview and may also be asked to present a your school report.

This course is free for 16-18yrs; for 19-23yrs, course is free if you have not achieved a full Level 1 qualification.

For all other students the course will cost: £6,602.

19+ learners may be able to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost of the course, and are advised to apply as soon as they are accepted on the course.

Fees and funding

If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
