This is the second stage of the AAT programme of courses, designed to develop highly-skilled support staff in the fields of finance and accountancy. This course is taught in two options, either day release or two evenings per week.

Subjects you study include:

  • Business Awareness
  • Financial Accounting: Preparing Financial Statements
  • Management Accounting Techniques
  • Tax Processes for Business

You need a Level 2 Certificate in Accounting with a Merit/Distinction or, alternatively, an equivalent qualification or appropriate work experience.

A place on the course is also subject to a successful interview with the course organiser.

  • Exam fee is included in the course fees
  • AAT registration: £240 (paid direct to AAT)
  • Course books approximately: £108

Learner Support Fund may cover the costs of your course and book fees.

This course is free If you live in the West Midlands Combined Authority area. To be eligible for this funding you must:

  • Be 19+ years old
  • Live in the West Midlands
  • Be on a low wage below £30,000 or unemployed.

If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
