Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Site Carpentry
You’ll learn how to set-up and use fixed and transportable machinery, operate a circular saw, carry out first fix flooring, stairs and roofing, frames, partitions and stairs and second double doors and mouldings.
This course supports the following job roles:
- Site Carpenter
- Architectural Joiner
You will gain the following qualification:
- NVQ Level 3 Site carpentry
This qualification comprises of the following mandatory units.
You must complete these units:
- Health, safety and welfare in construction
- Carry out first fix flooring and roofing
- Carry out second fixing operations
- Principles of organising, planning and pricing construction work
- Carry out first fix roofing and stairs
- Carry out second fixing double doors and mouldings
- Set up and use fixed and transportable machinery
In addition to completing and achieving the knowledge based qualifications you will prepare a portfolio of evidence, attend the College one day per week and receive regular workplace visits in order to assess competency and a final end point assessments. You will sit a number of exams including Functional Level 2 English and maths if you do not have grades 4 (C in the old grade structure).
