Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Childcare
This Apprenticeship is designed to help you build the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years.
It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas within Early Years and Childcare environments, including communication and building relationships with carers and children, health and safety and child development.
It is aimed at those already in the childcare and young people’s environment as well as those who wish to work in such environments.
Apprenticeships are a popular choice for young people looking for on-the-job training and the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications whilst earning a wage.
You will be studying key areas, including:
- Functional Skills maths, English and ICT Level 1 or 2
- First Aid
- Award in Employment Rights and Responsibilities in Health, Social Care and Children or Young People’s Settings
Apprenticeships have employed status. However, if you do not have a job then we will support you to find one.
Note: Owing to the strict requirements of the law, all students considered for a placement will need a clear DBS Enhanced Disclosure in order to take the course.
The qualification will be assessed by a variety of methods including taught sessions at college for one day a week and observations within the workplace.
On successful completion of the Apprenticeship you can progress to various job roles including working in day care, schools, youth centres, and working with children with additional needs.
You will ideally have achieved a GCSE grade 4 (C) or above in maths and English and you will need to pass an initial assessment at interview.
Need help choosing the right career path? You’ll be given a series of activities related to a work environment. Your job is to slide the scale to the left or right depending on how much you like or dislike the given activity. You will receive recommendations based on your selections.
