If you aspire to work in the leisure industry or would like to follow the apprenticeship route then this course is for you.

  • You will be studying key areas, including:
  • Active IQ Level 2 Leading Health-related Activity Sessions
  • Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Leisure Operations

Other qualifications may include:

  • Lifeguard
  • Child protection
  • Level 1 Award in Football Coaching
  • First aid

The course will be assessed through a combination of practical application of skills, presentations, logbooks and reflective reports.

This will lead to increased career development opportunities within the sport and leisure industry and possible progression onto further study.


Four GCSEs grade 3-1 (D-G) with a 3 (D) in English or maths and/or a Level 1 in a vocationally relevant subject and a positive year 11 academic reference.

Making your application

Fees and funding

If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
