Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Specialist Support In Schools
You will cover a range of units designed to improve your underpinning knowledge and practical ability within the classroom environment.
You will be studying key areas including:
- Child and young person development
- Introduction to safeguarding the well-being of children and young people
- Schools as organisations
- Supporting learning activities
- Developing positive relationships with children, young people and others involved in their care
You will also work towards a Level 1 Functional Skills qualification in English, maths and IT skills. Additionally you will achieve a qualification in understanding employers rights and responsibilities.
The apprenticeship will be assessed through work-based learning assessments and assignment submissions.
On completion of your Apprenticeship you can progress to various job roles, such as classroom assistant. You may also progress on to the Level 3 Apprenticeship in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or the Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young Peoples Workforce.

GCSE Grade 3 (D) in English, maths and any other two subjects (or equivalent), or; Diagnostics to achieve a minimum of Level 1 in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT with a successful interview.
