You will be able to learn on the job and get paid while studying for your qualification. Apprentices have employed status; however, if you do not have a job then we will help you to find one.

You will be studying:

  • Maintaining a Safe, Hygienic and Secure Working Environment
  • Contributing to Effective Teamwork
  • Maintaining Food Safety when Storing, Preparing and Cooking Food
  • Maintaining, and Handling Clean Knives

Assessments take place in the workplace and through a portfolio of evidence of knowledge & competence in performing a range of tasks built up over a period of time.

You can progress on to a Level 3 Professional Cookery Apprenticeship.

Minimum GCSE grade 3 (D) in maths & English or Level 1 Functional Skills in Literacy & Numeracy, plus a positive school reference and a successful interview.
