Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Childcare
Apprenticeships are a popular choice for young people looking for on-the-job training and the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications whilst earning a wage.
You will study:
- Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce
- Functional Skills maths
- English and ICT
- Level 1 or 2 Paediatric First Aid
- Level 2 Award in Employment
- Rights and responsibilities in health, social care or children and young people’s settings
Apprenticeships have employed status, however, if you do not have a job then we will support you to find one.
Please note: Owing to the strict requirements of the law, to be considered for a placement you will need a clear DBS Enhanced Disclosure in order to take the course.
You will be assessed by a variety of methods including taught sessions at Coventry College for one day a week and observations within the workplace.
On successful completion of a Level 2 Apprenticeship you may progress to Level 3 Children and Young People’s Workforce if they have already secured and commenced a job role as a team leader/supervisor in the Early Years sector.
You will ideally have achieved a GCSE grade 4 (C) or above in maths and English and you will need to pass initial assessment at interview.
