Are you 16–19 and thinking about a career working with children? If you enjoy helping others and want to make a real difference in young lives, this course is a great place to start.
The NCFE CACHE Level 2 Diploma in Introducing Caring for Children and Young People gives you a brilliant introduction to what it’s like to work in early years and childcare. You’ll build a solid understanding of how children grow, learn and thrive—while exploring whether a career in this rewarding sector is right for you.
With a mix of creative, hands-on tasks like leaflets, blogs, presentations and written assignments, this course keeps things interesting while helping you gain valuable knowledge and skills. You’ll work towards at least 37 credits from a wide range of optional units.

Once you’ve completed the Diploma, you’ll have lots of options, including:
- Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce
- Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (EYE)
- A childcare apprenticeship—earn while you learn!

Fees and funding
If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
