Level 2 Diploma in Nail Technology Enhancements

Course Overview

This is a part time, adult only course, which will run over two evenings per week.

This programme is a combination of both theory and practical work which will provide you with direct training for a career in the Nail industry.

Using high end products you’ll learn how to create beautiful, well balanced nail enhancements with Liquid and Powder, Your creativity will be challenged by nail art using a wide variety of products. You’ll be able to provide a wide range of services to clients within a salon.. Successful completion of this course will mean that you’ll have a firm foundation on which to build a career in the nail industry.

• Manicure and pedicure including luxury treatments
• Nail art
• Make-up
• Body art
• Lashes and brows
• Customer care and communication
• Reception duties
• Health & Safety
• Promoting products & services

You will enjoy visiting a range of course-related visits to exhibitions and activities designed to keep you up-to-date with developments within the industry. There will also be an opportunity to enter competitions and take part in enrichment activities such as nail art.

You will be assessed on all practical units and online examinations. On successful completion of this course, you can consider progression to start a Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Techniques. Alternatively, you will be equipped for employment in the Nail industry working in salons, cosmetic sales or health clubs. This qualification also opens up the opportunity to start a business in Nail services.

A minimum Level 1 qualification in English- Functional Skills or above. You should have good communication skills, and a positive attitude to learning and enjoy working with your hands. A successful interview and written assessment at enrolment may also be required of you.

Desirable – experience working/volunteering in salons and customer facing roles. Any previous Hair and Beauty qualifications.

For all adult learners, fees do apply and will be confirmed at enrolment. Student funding advice is available from college to support with this, so can be free to many learners, depending on personal circumstances.

You will be required to purchase a kit and professional salon wear – details of these will be given at enrolment. Should you be on a low income you can apply to our learner support fund to help purchase these.
