Level 2 Diploma in Games Development

If you are interested in creating digital graphics, understanding how video games are developed and working with other media such as digital video, then this could be your first step into the world of games design/digital media.

It will give you the chance to develop a wide range of skills and can be used as a progression route into higher level courses or further training. This is an ideal course for dedicated and enthusiastic gamers; the course tutors are all avid game players themselves and are very passionate about what they do.

There will also be plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself in the videogame industry and to get excited about recent and upcoming developments by visiting Expos (such as EGX, Insomnia, etc.) and getting involved with related work experience projects.

• 2D Games Production (Video Games)

This course is a Study Programme which consists of:

*If you have not already achieved a GCSE pass at Grade 5 or above (a Grade ‘C’ equivalent in the old exam system) you will study Maths and/or English as an integral part of your college programme. Previous students have gone on to study the following courses:

• Level 3 Diploma in Games Design

Four GCSEs at Grade 3 (D in the old grading structure) or above, including one in English or Maths, with some preference given to related subjects such as ICT, Computing, Graphics, and/or Art courses. Or, a related Level 1 Qualification (Media/Games) with GCSE/Level 1 in English & Maths.

This course is free for 16-18yrs; for 19-23yrs, course is free if you have not achieved a full Level 2 qualification.
