Level 2 Certificates in Aviation & Cabin Crew
This course is designed to give you the specialist knowledge to prepare you for a career as cabin crew within the airline industry. As part of this qualification you will study a Certificate in Aviation.
You will be studying key areas, including:
- Working as cabin crew
- Airline health, safety and security
- Aircraft emergency situations
- Dealing with passengers on board an aircraft
- Cabin service – selling techniques
- Making passenger announcements on board an aircraft
- Food service
- Health and safety within aviation
- Aviation security
- Aviation communications
- Airport check in services
Visits are also arranged, including a one-day emergency procedures course with a world-class airline, and a one-day aviation course at an airport where you will work both in-flight and on-the-ground with an established airport employer.
You will be assessed on written assignments, role plays, practical assessments and presentations; this will include English and maths.
After completing this course you could progress to employment with an airline subject to age or you could progress to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism with a merit profile. Advice on opportunities for further study will be provided during your course.
This course may be free for 16-18yrs; for 19-23yrs, course is free if you have not achieved a full Level 2 qualification.

1st year course fee is £941; exam fee is £139.

A relevant Level 1 qualification such as Travel and Tourism with a merit profile or 1 GCSE at grade 4 (C) or above in a related subject, and Entry Level Functional Skills plus a positive school report and the successful completion of an interview.
Making your application
We will check your application to see if you meet the standard entry requirements for the course. If you do, you’ll receive an invitation via email to attend an interview with a Curriculum Tutor.
Fees and funding
If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
From entry-level qualifications, through to degree-level and specialist professional courses there’s something here for students with little or no formal education right up to career high-flyers. Expect a vibrant environment where you can meet people from different backgrounds and cultures.
