Course Overview
This qualification is aimed at candidates who would like to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding to progress in to a career working in the aviation sector. The certificate consists of 4 units of study, covering health and safety in aviation, aviation security, communications and boarding and arrival duties. Topics include; aviation terminology, types of aircraft, job opportunities, check in and security procedures at the airport, legislation, passport and immigration and baggage handling. Students will be assessed by a range of written work as led by course tutor This course is part time, and will be 4 hours contact time with your specialist lecturer and a minimum expected 2 hours independent learning per week. This is an adult only course, suitable for anybody aged 19 and over. Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be offered an interview with a well-established ground handling team.
There are no course specific qualifications required to join this course, however, there is an expectation candidates are working towards a Level 2 standard of English. A short written test will be given at interview to assess suitability.
