Level 2 Award In Instructing Kettlebells
This is an Active IQ course
The Active IQ Level 2 Award in Instructing Kettlebells is aimed at all Level 2 and Level 3 qualified instructors and trainers and is allocated 16 CPD points. It has been developed to train candidates, who already have knowledge and skills in fitness instruction to a professionally competent level to plan and deliver safe and effective kettlebell exercises and training sessions. This qualification is designed to broaden the skills of fitness instructors to include instructing kettlebell sessions.
The course comprises of two units:
- Unit 1 – Planning a kettlebell exercise session
- Unit 2 – Instructing a kettlebell exercise session
The course is offered through a blended learning approach where you will undertake at least six weeks of home study supported through online sessions by an experienced member of our team. You will then attend a practical workshop and assessment day (usually Saturday).
The course involves a variety of assessments which you will undertake either as home study or during attendance at the weekend during the practical workshop/assessment.
The course consists of the following assessments:
- Worksheet and session plan
- Formative practical assessment
- Session evaluation
- Progression route
Successful completion of this course will allow you to progress on to:
- The Active IQ Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training
- The Active IQ Level 3 Certificate in Sports Massage
You will need to enrol on the course at least six weeks prior to the attendance weekend to ensure sufficient time to complete their home study and revision. On enrolment they will need to choose the practical workshop as detailed below:

Making your application
We will check your application to see if you meet the standard entry requirements for the course. If you do, you’ll receive an invitation via email to attend an interview with a Curriculum Tutor.
Fees and funding
If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
From entry-level qualifications, through to degree-level and specialist professional courses there’s something here for students with little or no formal education right up to career high-flyers. Expect a vibrant environment where you can meet people from different backgrounds and cultures.
