Course Overview

This course looks at filming techniques and creating a media product for a purpose. You will learn how to create pre-production materials for filming and then edit the film in post-production.

It is a 1 year course and is 100% coursework.

Over the course of the year you will create a mood board for planning of your films, create a schedule for planning and filming, and create storyboards and scripts. You will be taught how to use a camera and work within a team all having job roles for the production of your film. Post-production will require you to edit your film using Adobe software and evaluate your work and progress through each step.

The main topics within media you will be working on are:

  • Working with others
  • Shooting a Short Film
  • Creating a Story Board
  • Creating a Mood Board

 

This course is for 16-18 year old.

No entry requirements. However this course is suited to those who received level 1’s in their GCSE’s and will be required to re-take maths and English alongside this course. Once you have passed this course there is chance for progression onto a Level 2 qualification.

This course is free for 16-18yrs, for all other students fees may apply.
