Level 1 ESOL
The ESOL Level 1 programme is for young people and adults who are resident in the UK.
Students can join full-time or part-time classes during the day working towards Level 1 Diploma in Progression, including Functional Skills English or Level 1 Extended Certificate in Skills for Employment and Further Learning and Level 1 Skills for Life. Evening classes are also available in Level 1 Functional Skills English.
You will improve your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in English, as well as your confidence using the language. On completion of the course you may be able to progress to a vocational course at college and build a better future.
Depends on programme studied
No specific entry requirements but you will need good upper-intermediate English skills and you will be required to take an English assessment in reading, writing, speaking & listening
Making your application
We will check your application to see if you meet the standard entry requirements for the course. If you do, you’ll receive an invitation via email to attend an interview with a Curriculum Tutor.
Fees and funding
If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
From entry-level qualifications, through to degree-level and specialist professional courses there’s something here for students with little or no formal education right up to career high-flyers. Expect a vibrant environment where you can meet people from different backgrounds and cultures.
