Level 1 Diploma in Performing Arts
If you are 16-18 years old and looking for an introductory course which will help develop your performance skills in drama and dance then what we have to offer is perfect. Our course will improve your functional skills in Maths and English.
It is an ideal course if you are unsure if Performing Arts is for you, or if you want to develop your confidence through live performances and various projects you will not only develop both your technical and performance skills. The course will give you the opportunity to gain experience and an understanding of the skills needed to become a performer. The course will also help you decide whether you wish to study further in the industry and prepare you for further training.

You will also take part in a number of performances that are shown to staff, students, the local community and toured around Coventry and Warwickshire.

*If you have not already achieved a GCSE pass at grade C or above in English and Maths you will study Maths and/ or English as an integral part of your college programme.
Grading for GCSE English language, English literature and maths is changing from 2017, with other subjects following suit from 2018. Click here for more information.
You must have an interest in Art & Design plus 2 GCSEs at Grade 2 (E in the old grading structure) or above, or a relevant entry level qualification.
English and maths at Entry 3 or above.
Course is free for 16-18yrs; for 19-23yrs, course is free if you have not achieved a full Level 1 qualification.

Making your application
We will check your application to see if you meet the standard entry requirements for the course. If you do, you’ll receive an invitation via email to attend an interview with a Curriculum Tutor.
Fees and funding
If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
From entry-level qualifications, through to degree-level and specialist professional courses there’s something here for students with little or no formal education right up to career high-flyers. Expect a vibrant environment where you can meet people from different backgrounds and cultures.
