Level 1 Diploma in Beauty Therapy
This course is the ideal introduction to a career in beauty therapy and is designed to develop specific skills in preparation for entry to Level 2 Beauty Therapy.
You will study:
- Assisting therapists with clients and reception
- Mini facials
- Plus nationally recognised Functional Skills qualifications.
You will enjoy a range of course-related visits to exhibitions and activities designed to keep you up-to-date with developments within the industry. You will also have the opportunity to enter competitions and take part in enrichment activities such as nail art and luxury hand and foot treatments.
You will be assessed via ongoing practical assessments, online exams and assignments.
On successful completion of this course, you can progress to the Level 2 Beauty Therapy or Level 2 Hairdressing. Alternatively, you can may seek employment in salons.
Course may be free for 16-18yrs; for 19-23yrs, course is free if you have not achieved a full Level 2 qualification.

One GCSE at grade 3-1 (D-G) in English or maths, a positive attitude to learning a vocational skill and positive school report. You will be required to attend a taster session.
Making your application
We will check your application to see if you meet the standard entry requirements for the course. If you do, you’ll receive an invitation via email to attend an interview with a Curriculum Tutor.
Fees and funding
If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
From entry-level qualifications, through to degree-level and specialist professional courses there’s something here for students with little or no formal education right up to career high-flyers. Expect a vibrant environment where you can meet people from different backgrounds and cultures.
