Level 1 Certificate in Exploring the Aviation & Travel & Tourism Industry

If you have a passion for travel and want a career in the aviation and tourism industry, look no further. As part of this qualification you will study a Certificate in Introduction to Travel and Tourism.

You will be studying key areas, including:

  • Background to the travel and tourism industry
  • Aviation industry
  • Travel geography
  • Aviation terminology
  • Working in a team customer service
  • Working in the travel and aviation industry
  • Plus nationally recognised English and maths qualifications

Visits are also arranged, including a one day aviation course at Birmingham Airport where you will work on the ground and also in-flight.

You will be assessed on written assignments, role plays, practical assessments and presentations; this will include English and maths.

After completing the course successfully with a good merit profile you may progress to the Level 2 Certificate in Air Cabin Crew and Aviation or employment in the travel and tourism industry.

 

This course may be free for 16-18yrs; for 19-23yrs, course is free if you have not achieved a full Level 2 qualification.

For all other students fees apply:
1st year course fee is £833; exam fee is £127.

This course requires three GCSEs grades 4-1 (D–G) in relevant subjects, English or equivalent, a positive school report and the successful completion of an interview.

Making your application

Fees and funding

If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
