Level 1 Access Award in Accounting Software
This is the ideal starting point if you want to carry out basic finance and administrative duties using accounting software packages. We would recommend that you study the Access Award in Business Skills first or have appropriate business experience and the Access Award in Bookkeeping Skills.
This programme is a basic entry-level qualification and can provide a solid grounding for learners with no previous bookkeeping knowledge or experience, before moving on to the foundation-level qualifications.
AAT Membership – Your AAT membership allows you to sit the assessments to gain this qualification and also to have access to study support resources for this course.
GCSE English and maths Grade D/3 or completion of a diagnostic test to assess your literacy and numeracy. We would recommend that you first studied the Access Award in Business Skills or have appropriate business experience, and also Access Award in Bookkeeping (Level 1)

Making your application
We will check your application to see if you meet the standard entry requirements for the course. If you do, you’ll receive an invitation via email to attend an interview with a Curriculum Tutor.
Fees and funding
If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
